Trail Magic June 27, 2005
My two oldest boys hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail a couple years ago. I even have a picture to document their adventure Click here and scroll down for a photo. They came back with some neat pictures and tales to tell that will endure long after the pictures are gone.

Pray for Chuk June 23, 2005

Chuk has taken a break from his studies to serve as a counselor at Camp Barakel this summer. He wants to keep and eternal focus. This picture was taken a couple years ago. Chuk was looking out toward the Manitous. I always wonder if he is thinking back to the time we spent there or if he is thinking forward to some future adventure.
Please keep Chuk in your prayers this summer. Please pray that he would know God and be used of God in the lives of about 90 boys over the period of the summer. If you want to send him a note of encouragement, send it to me via e-mail at: ken@kenpierpont.com. I will fax it to him.

ETERNAL VISION MINISTRY TEAM
We are enjoying a beautiful summer week here in our part of the world. The weather has been perfect. I do love Michigan weather. You can enjoy what is good about each season. We have mild summers, gorgeous autumns, and winters that really make you appreciate spring. If you like variety we have a variety of weather here.

ETERNAL VISION MINISTRY TEAM: If you are aware of young men and women of college age who would like to spend some time seeking God and getting an eternal focus have them take a look at the Eternal Vision web page and consider joining the Eternal Vision Ministry Team in September. Click here to visit the Eternal Vision Ministry Team web page. You can call me directly if you have any questions at the Riverfront Character Inn at 810.239.1234.

I try to pour my heart and passion for Christ into the lives of the young people who are a part of the Eternal Vision Ministry Team.

When young people come here for Eternal Vision, they read and memorize Scripture, they read rich devotional classics and powerful stories of those who risked their lives for the gospel. They serve in the ministry of the Character Inn and they “hit the streets” of Flint in a variety of ways.

I spent last week in Chicago, finishing work on my Master’s Degree. The first day was hot and humid but one evening the heat lifted and the sky cleared and a sweet breeze blew over the Windy City. After class I had a book to read and a report to write, but the beauty of the evening tugged me outdoors.

Taking His Bride Away June 13, 2005
For years Kyle (my first-born son) and I have talked about that moment when he drives away with his bride. There were many tearful times when he wondered how that would ever happen. But Saturday afternoon it did.
When Kyle drove away with his bride I had a intense within that nearly made my heart burst with joy. Kyle and I have used a little hand gesture for many, many years to say good-bye. He looked over to me as he accelerated away and flashed that little sign. I watched the car until it went out of sight choking back tears of joy.

The Wedding! June 12, 2005

Kyle and Elizabeth memorized their vows and recited them to each other.

These pictures were taken by our friend Isaiah Mays.

Kyle and I have used this little hand gesture for many, many years to say good-bye. Seconds after this picture was taken my son and his beautiful wife drove off into their lives together. My heart nearly burst with joy. It did seem that it was only a short time ago I drove away from the church with my bride. Then it was just yesterday that we brought him home and set together and wept at the wonder of having a son. Now he has plunged fully into the mystery and wonder and joy of marriage with Elizabeth.
They are obviously deeply in love with eachother. Monday they leave for a honeymoon in the Carribean. God is good. He was so very good to Lois and I, two very undeserving sinners, to gift us with such a fine son and to fill our lives with such joy for these past twenty-five years. I find my heart praying this morning for Kyle and Elizabeth to know that same love.
The Couple June 9, 2005
Kyle and Elizabeth will be married on Saturday at Trinity Church in Lansing at 12:30. You can get directions HERE

“No, Dan, I really am going to have to pass this time. I promised my wife I would have the garage clean this weekend. She is having a garage sale next week and it looks like something exploded in there. I’m going to have to leave the clubs in the trunk this weekend. I’ll have to take a rain check. Maybe next time I can join you.”
