Bearclaw Coffee

news-bear.gifI like to brew my own coffee from The Melting Pot in Rockford, Michigan. It’s the very best I have ever had. When I ran the Character Inn in Flint it was the house coffee. People raved about it. But if I am ever in a rush and want a quick drive-through gormet coffee, this little shop is convenient. It is just one mile south of the church, right on my way. It’s a lovely little shop, isn’t it? Bearclaw Coffee is pretty good stuff on a winter day. The workers there were cheerful, too. Cheerfullness is like caffeine for the soul. Hey, Caffeine for the Soul, I like that.

Cheerfulness is Cafeine for the Soul

Prosperity in 2008
By Ken Pierpont

A mile south of the church is a business called Bear Claw Coffee. I spoke to the owner the other day. I asked him how business was. Last year was his first year in business so it was an expensive start-up. He is hoping that 2008 will be a profitable, prosperous year. I hope so too. I want them to be around for a long time. Yesterday when I looped through to get my morning “joe” they handed my cup out the window with a little Tootsie Roll on top of it. Nice touch. They don’t do that at Starbucks.

I wish for you real prosperity in 2008. There is no genuine prosperity without spiritual prosperity, no matter how many pounds you loose, no matter how much money you make.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3) For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. (4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 Jn 1:2-4 NKJV

I hope they sell a lot of lattes and coffees at Bear Claw and I hope they are there for years to come. I enjoy a warm exchange and a strong, black coffee to warm me in my Jeep on the way to the study. If you think of it, pray for me that I will prosper spiritually in this New Year. Pray that I will be able to influence the good people at Bear Claw to prosper in every way. May God prosper you and yours too and make the Stonebridge a part of that.

I like to hear you have your cafeine too.
I have Chronic Fatigue and if I don’t have my tea or cafeine pop I am completely homebound. They say this disease won’t kill but it can make you want to die. It’s a good thing I’m a Christian and only believe in righteous death. I think the Lord for the scriptures and people like Joni Eareckson Tada.
Not why me but why not me! It’s not about us its about the glory of the Lord.

    Dear Pastor Ken,
Thank You!!!!! What a Wonderful Compliment to our
Shop. We are so happy to hear from our neighbors
and commuters that they recognize the appreciation
we have in our customers. Our Baristas were very
proud to know that their Cheerfulness Does Make
a Difference in Someones day!!!!! I always tell them
that Good Manners Never Go Out of Style. We have
had the pleasure of serving many of your church
members in the last week and look forward to
being the little Coffee Shop that has something
    extra – Customer Appreciation.

I finally got to Bearclaw and you are right they are really friendly. The lady said, “Are you from the church on the corner?”
I don’t drink coffee so my granddaughter and I had Hot Chocolate. It was special. Megan couldn’t get over that I took her there. She felt special. That’s what grandmothers are for.
Thanks for telling us about the coffee shop. I didn’t know it was there.
