I’m reading F. W. Boreham’s Mushrooms on the Moor this evening. He was a pastor but not a “preachy” writer. He possessed a unique style of writing. You can read his “blog” here Of course he has been dead for years, but you can sample his writings on the blog devoted to his writing. He attended Spurgeon’s Pastor’s School and was the last student interviewed personally by the great preacher.

I have often thought of things I like in a church building. I love a soaring white steeple glistening against the blue sky or lighted jutting up into the night. It would, of course, have a large pulpit in the very center, symbolic of the priority of the ministry of the Word. Maybe it would have the white colonial furniture, too.

This weekend it was a little like spring. I took a walk along the shores of the St. Joe River with my grandson, Kyle Kenneth. He has the sweetest little dark eyes and tiny soft lips. He’s my buddy. I even talked him into giving me a kiss. It was a happy moment.
