Harold E. Kohn was from Michigan. I still lived in my native Ohio when I discovered him. He was a fellow pastor, writer, lover of nature and Michigander. Once a year the Public Library of Mt. Vernon, Ohio had a generous sale to rid themselves of their discarded books. It was a bit of an annual holiday for me.

On Wednesday night at Evangel the young people stay after the meeting to play. Moms sit by the fireplace in the lobby and talk. Little children play at their feet. I sometimes stop and talk with the moms and greet the children. Last week little Gabby was playing there. She is a tiny, adorable, three-year-old.

It is a wonderful, sunny, Friday morning. I have opened the blinds wide and I am looking out on Blakely “Creek” through my window waiting for the brown trees along the drain to show their spring colors. I was out on a delightful call yesterday and noticed that things are right on the edge bursting into bloom. There is even a hint of green in the grass. They tell me there are eagles in a wildlife refuge not far from here. I am going to see them this spring.
