Rudy at Lake Ann

rudyatlakeannYesterday I left “Rudy” (Hannah Ruth) at Lake Ann Camp to be a counselor for the summer. (As you can see, I didn’t have my official photographer with me, but I did capture a likeness of Hannah when we arrived at Lake Ann).

It was bitter-sweet to drive away and home, leaving Hannah “alone” for the first time ever. She will be there until mid-August. On the drive home across our beautiful state I had time to quietly think about Hannah. She has been a delightful daughter to have in our home these swift-flying years. She has worked very hard and she has been a great help to her mother and all of us. We will especially miss her cooking, her “cab service,” and her shopping for us. I have so many very happy memories. If you think of her, pray for her and the team of young people and others who will minister there this summer. So far there are over eighty campers signed-up from Evangel.

I am thrilled that Hannah will be representing the Lord at Lake Ann. She is the first of the Pierponts that I met and she did you guys proud. She is a very special young lady.

I don’t know Hannah but from what you have said, I’m sure that she will be a blessing to others this summer. I have such fond memories from working at LA in 2005. God taught me so much and each summer I pray for those who are on staff. God will do great things in the hearts of campers and counselors this summer!

Oh my, how I loved working at camp and the blessing and growing that I did at camp as a young person.

Those campers are going to be so blessed to have Hannah as their counselor.

Our prayers are for the Father’s hand on her and the growth that comes with leadership and responsibility and blessing to those she influences.

    I Peter 4:10 [NIV]
EACH ONE SHOULD USE WHATEVER GIFT HE HAS RECEIVED TO SERVE OTHERS, FAITHFULLY ADMINISTERING GOD’S GRACE IN ITS VARIOUS FORMS. IF ANYONE SPEAKS, HE SHOULD DO IT AS ONE SPEAKING THE VERY WORDS OF GOD. IF ANYONE SERVES HE SHOULD DO IT WITH THE STRENGTH GOD PROVIDES, SO THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD MAY BE PRAISED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.

Sorry for the long comment…. just so happy to have my grandchildren serving the Savior.

    Love you, Hannah.

Lake Ann has provided many opportunities overthe years of it’s existance, This one worked along side Dr. Howard Kiethley extremely closely “digging the hole for a Septic Tank) for the boys facility. Always great fellowship is on hand in many locations. Cheer up Hannah! The Lord God is ever present!”

I was touched by the emotions you had at leaving your “little” girl for the summer. The emotions you had at leaving her as she begins the work that the Lord has given her to do are so meaningful. We raise our kids for Him to use for His glory. As I watch how others respond to their children going forward in God’s plan for them, I marvel how different the responces are. I pray that the Lord will be honored in my responce to my boys’ stepping out for His glory.
Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.
