SNOWY DAY December 2, 2005

Snowy Day.JPG

I worked security last night. I could tell on the monitors it was snowing through the night. When I finished my shift I went to sleep for a few hours. When I woke Lois was excited because the snow was falling. She announced that it was the perfect day to get our tree. I agreed.

LOIS’ PHOTOS: To see some of her photos of the day you can visit her site. This picture was taken on the little tree farm we have patronized for the last three Christmases. After we got our tree we drove to Frankenmuth. Now we have our new tree tucked in the corner of our cozy living room.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thanks Door November 22, 2005

Thanks Door (small).jpg

Two of the young ladies in our Verity Program have covered their door with little “post-it” notes. Each of these notes has something for which they are thankful. Bright kids, don’t you think. Reminds you of Deuteronomy 6 “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

A Great Work November 2, 2005

Last night we visited the Dave Diedrich home. The Diedrichs have four sons, three daughters and a huge yellow lab named Murphy. Dave and his wife invited the Eternal Vision Ministry Team and our family to their home for a relaxing fall evening. We walked the grounds and watched the river run by. We toured their outbuildings and tossed the football out in the autumn air until near dark when we were called in for supper.

There is a cosmic battle in the unseen realm where demons and angels struggle for the allegiance of the souls of men, women and children.

When Your Father Says, “I Love You.” October 18, 2005

Autumn passes so quickly I always want to savor every minute of it. It comes and goes so fast that I often feel like I don’t have enough time to get out in it and drink it in. But Sunday was an exception. After church we enjoyed the cool day and the bright sun and the brilliant colors of Michigan. We took more pictures than any family ought to have of themselves. Pictures are a good excuse to go to beautiful places.

The shirt says something like this: “Climb the mountains, drive fast, pass on wrong side of the road, shoot the rapids, kayak the falls… thank you for supporting your local paramedics.”
