January 19-21
At The Riverfront Character Inn
For Young Ladies
Last year at the “Winter Gathering” God did great things and I am excited to see what happens this year! Please mark this down on your calendar and come if you can. Email me anytime if you have questions, would like brochures or just want more details and information @ hollypierpont@gmail.com
I will continue to update here on the site as we plan.
Ladies, I just found the neatest site. Dad found it and sent it to me.
Go here to Girl Talk
Carolyn Mahaney is a great Christian lady that writes really good sound Christian books. All three of her daughter’s believe strongly in courtship, modesty, motherhood, homemaking, etc. All her daughters are now married and it also tells their stories there on the site too.Very interesting! I know I will be going back to it often…hope it encourages you too.
I just finished my Amish book “The Preacher’s Daughter”. It was so good. I just love her writings and she cannot write fast enough for me to read. She has a homey, cozy way of writing that I just absolutely love like quilting bees and cooking in the warm kitchen on cold winter days. She write about making Christmas cookies for the neighbors and sleigh rides through the snow with quilts to keep them warm. And the amazing thing is that if you go to Amish Country in Ohio it is just as picturesque as she writes. Maybe you don’t like that kind of thing but I love it.
So I am now waiting anxiously for the next one to come out. She left it hanging and I cannot wait to read the next one.
Today is so beautiful! The sun is shining brightly from where I can see here at Front Desk.
Dad is speaking at a church in Ohio this weekend so I think we will be leaving early to take in the colors of fall on the back roads of Holmes County Ohio Amish Country. And maybe go to some of our old favorite craft stores too. So I am happy about that.
Out to enjoy this beautiful weekend and I hope that you do too! Enjoy those Fall colors adn when you do tell Him how much you love Him.
Girls, here is a neat little story that happened to me and I just felt like God was giving me a hug of encouragement! I love it when He does that and I want it to encourage you too. He does care about us looking modest yet being attractive….

Modesty Is Beautiful!
I was in the store just the other day doing what I absolutely LOVE to do — Shopping J. I saw this shirt hanging up on the wall and thought I kinda liked, it was on sale too that’s a plus. So I just went to try it on.
When I tried it on I loved it!!! It was definitely my color with sequins and……. it was just beautiful! I really wanted it now.
THEN my Mom gave me that look and I knew what she was thinking. She thought it was too tight. I was disappointed. She went to get a bigger size and I tried it on. I hated the large size it looked sloppy and not cute at all. I looked at me reflection and thought “Yep, this is what modest looks like…ugly”.
I then left the dressing room to find a bigger size. I looked all over and couldn’t find a medium size. But I did see another large.
My very first instinct was to buy the small anyway. I personally didn’t have a problem with it. But……..as I stood there I KNEW what I was to do — obey. Sometimes it’s hard to just obey. But I resigned to hang it back up and leave and try to find something else I liked. I really loved this shirt, a lot too. But I was ready to put it back.
As I made my way back to hang it up disappointed, I looked up and right there was the very size I needed!!
I had looked twice. Mom looked then I looked. I then realized there must have been a lady in the dressing room that didn’t want it and put it back just in time as I walked back to return my other shirt.
I tried it on and it was absolutely perfect. Fitting, stylish, pretty, my color, my size and most of all modest. I even liked this one more it was even prettier, I thought. I bought it. And I had to think while paying “He does care! He does love me! And He makes my life truly BEAUTIFUL!!!”
See modesty is beautiful and He always makes a way to do just that and be beautiful for Him. I have so many stories of Him doing this very thing over and over for me.
Thanks to my parent’s for keeping me accountable, always.
