Walking In The Light….

Date: Tuesday September 16, 2008

I thought this picture that my mom took of myself and my little sister Hope perfectly described my websites meaning and header… this is my motto for this site. “Encouraging young ladies to walk in the Sunshine on the path of Light together”.

As you know this is from the verse… 1 John 1:7 “If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His son cleanseth us from all sin”

God’s Words are so true…

Rainy Days…

Hey, I have been busy! But no excuse for not updating here. Today was a rainy day. Rainy days are good days too. Brother Chuk was here today! It’s been so good to have him home for just a little bit… before he heads back to WI.:(

Tonight I am studying my Sunday school lesson. Tomorrow I teach Sunday school. I will be the Bible teacher from now on for them. It’s the little, little kids so…. I will have to do hand stands to try and keep their attention… we shall see how do. Well, not hand stands. But you know…. ;) So tomorrow one of my favorite Bible lessons ever, I get to tell… Isaac and Rebekah. Love it. My favorite.

Last Sunday the girls and myself had a concert at Higgins Lake Baptist church where my Uncle Kevin and his family live. We had a great time there singing, sharing our testimonies, visiting with the people and our family. Great ministry.

This week I spoke for the girls in the youth group about loving Jesus. I really enjoyed doing that and pouring my heart out to them about Him. I also gave a report to the Ladies Missionary Aid group at our church of our trip to Kentucky. We sang for them and they made it a Kentucky theme night. Such a cute idea. We gave our testimonies, sang, I gave a report and we showed our slide show. The ladies were so sweet and listened and laughed. I really enjoyed doing that.

So, it’s been a full week of ministry…. and more abounds… coming up ahead. Tonight, I am listening to the song “But For The Grace Of God” Hope and I are singing it together here in our room. Can’t be more true of my heart right now. Sometimes I look at others and think others lives are SO messed up! And then I remember… there go I, but for the grace of God…

goodnight friends… ;) sleep well.

“Twinkle Living” Chunky Throw

“Twinkle Living rugs, throws and pillows — whimsical, quirky, sophisticated and accessible home designs for the contemporary collector who appreciates fashion.

Twinkle Living encapsulates Wenlan Chia’s fashion sensibility, her contemporary lifestyle, and a childhood spent amongst the expansive architecture of her native Taiwan. Wenlan founded Twinkle after her handmade chunky knit sweaters caught the eyes of stylish New Yorkers on the street as she strode to class at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her ability to combine advanced knitting with fashion forward ideas made the craft hot again. Originally trained in the arts, Wenlan draws all of her own patterns for both her home and fashion collections. With custom prints and designs inspired by imagery culled from a life spent working in the arts, traveling the world, and escaping with idle daydreams, Wenlan brings a fresh point of view to her work and is thrilled to translate her ideas into a line of unique but accessible collection for the home. ”

Ok, THIS is what I am going for. I want to knit this blanket. This exact yarn is on the way. So if I can pull it off… and I am determined to… then I will have knitted a blanket going for 247$. Proof “Design Public” Can you believe it. I just love this style. Chic is what I call it. Perfect for those football games this fall ;)

It All Started…

just the other day when I was in a little tiny historic village we visited as a family. The village was cute and a little river ran along the edges of town. We found what appeared to us to be a candy/toy store from where we peeked in from the sidewalk. So, we all walked in. They had those big glass jars of candies.. lot’s of jars of candies. They even had chocolate covered coffee beans. Those are a MUST have, I might add. :)

Anyway, I was looking around when I saw this big, chunky knit, blanket. It caught my eye (and once my eye is “caught” it’s hard forget about what caught it :) . It was clover/dusty green in color. I wanted it. The price being marked at 84$ I thought better. But, I LOVED it, therefore not being able to forget it! The color was so cute though I don’t usually ever get anything in that color. I wanted THAT color. It was so soft. And just kinda chic. I thought.

Tonight I finally found what I think they used to make this blanket! I have already ordered it! I can’t wait. :) I ordered it from a small little shop in Tivoli, New York. They really don’t have bad prices either. So, with the days turning cooler and the quickly coming fall season I will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of my soft, warm, wool yarn in the color “clover” from the little shop on Broadway Street.

A Movie.

I love a good movie. (Also anything that has romance;) It looks like another movie is coming out soon that might be worth actually seeing and not fast forwarding through almost the whole thing (which I have had to do recently)!!
I was just watching the trailer tonight and it looks like it will be pretty good. Here is the trailer.

September 26th you might want to stop in for a movie… that actually promotes the right things. Very rare indeed. :)
