Friday was set aside as a “Day of Delighting in the Lord.” Before dinner we had communion. The afternoon was filled with teaching, testimonies, confession, tears, and singing. After a day of fasting dinner was roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy – very, very good. (Hats of to Chef Grose and his staff).
This evening Mr. Gothard is speaking now on the most misunderstood verse in the Bible. The men sang, “Redeemed,” “We’re Marching to Zion,” “I Want a Principle Within,” and “And Can it Be,” which has become the Dad’s Conference theme song. The men sing it with all their hearts and explode into applause and shouting when they finish. I think Doug Small will preach again this evening. After the session the men will gather in the dinning room for an ice-cream social.
It is holy ground here this evening. Please pray that God will work in each man deeply. Pray that the speakers will know exactly what to say that will open the hearts of men for God. Pray for a deep level of brokenness, honesty, and humility before the Lord.
