  1. “Faithful.” The word to describe dear servants like Kenneth F. and Jane Pierpont, and people who serve in churches like they do, is “faithful.” You feel greatly blessed when you are in their presence and feel convicted as you reflect on their commitment when you leave them. And, continuing your farming illustration, when you observe them faithfully plowing year after year for decades of time you pray, “Lord, like them, help me to keep my hands holding steadily to the plow, with my eyes trained straight ahead at the target that was selected before commencing to plow – faithfulness to my Lord Jesus Christ.”

Yes, “faithful” is the appropriate term to describe people like the Pierponts and many others that the Lord has blessed us to meet over the years. As a matter of fact, “faithful” is God’s favorite term. Here are a few examples:

“Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?” (Proverbs 20:6)

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you a ruler over many things.” (Matthew 25:21, 23).

“Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints!” For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.” (Psalm 31:23).

“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:1).

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” (1 Timothy 1:12).

Thank you, Ken, for sharing about your wonderful Dad (born on the same date as mine!). And thank you, Kenneth F. and Jane for sharing your faithful example to so many of us.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and the He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

  2. I love the assessment of “faithful”, brother Ken pointed to. “Faithful is he who calls, who will also do it”1Thes.5:24. God faithfully saves, we faithfully serve. God faithfully gives grace for our gifts, we use those gifts for His glory! Faithful pastor will stir up his gift, by stirring up the gifts in believers. Pastor Ken that is the success I believe God honors, and you exemplifies greatly. What a family heritage and blessing you all are…
