When the Spirit nudges you to do something don’t argue about it. Obey. He will never lead you to a place that isn’t good for you. To obey the voice of the Spirit is to be drawn into the heart of what God is doing. Then your life becomes an adventure.
Years ago Lois and I felt the Spirit prompting us to be more generous. We felt inadequate and under-resourced. We got on our knees in my study and asked God to help us. For the rest of our lives we will be telling the stories that have come out of that time of obedience to God.
2 Corinthians 9:6-10 says; “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness…”
If you think of it pray for me. I am writing a book filled with stories of what happens when you hear from God and obey…
