I am reading the complete works of Henry VanDyke. He is well-known as the author of “The Other Wise Man,” and the words to “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.” I am currently reading the first of the eighteen-volume set: “Little Rivers.”
Little Rivers is a collection of outdoor essays. He writes of trout fishing and rivers and mountains and Heater in Scotland. The book is out of print. You can enjoy lazy afternoons brousing used book shops in hopes of finding a copy. It’s not a romantic, but you can find a copy by searching on-line. Or you can click this link and read the whole book right here. You can read many works by VanDyke here.
Enjoy and let me know what you think.
