Today this story came to my attention about someone I have had on my heart. Let’s call him Ted (not his real name). He is struggling with his faith. He has dealt with disappointments, setbacks, and hurts.
He is doubting the providence of God… He said so to a woman last night. He said something like this; “I don’t really know about the providence of God. If I need a car I go buy it. I take a couple thousand dollars and I go buy a car. I’m not sure the Lord shows up with a car. I think you get it because you saved the money and you went and bought it.”
That is what he told his friend.
Later that evening an old friend connected with him. He said; “I feel like the Lord put it on my heart to give you a car.”
Ted picked up the car.
He stood with his friend in the parking lot and talked. When the got ready to leave Ted gave his friend a big hug and said; “You’ve given me a lot to think about.”
