Ken Pierpont, a deeply loved husband, father, pastor, and storyteller, took his last breath on earth and stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior on February 19th, 2024. He was in his home he loved dearly, Bittersweet Farm and with the person he loved the most in this world his wife, Lois. Born on November 3rd, 1958, Ken embraced life with a zeal for God, love for his family, and the power of a well-told story.
Ken’s life began in Xenia, Ohio, and he was raised along with his siblings Melony, Kevin and Nathan by loving parents, Ken and Jane Pierpont, who dedicated their life to the ministry of the gospel. Ken loved his Dad and Mom and each of his siblings and was always eager to be involved in ministry with them which often involved singing together. From an early age, his gift with words and storytelling captivated those around him, foreshadowing a future rich in ministry and connection.
After answering the call to serve as a pastor at 17 years old, Ken dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel and sharing the message of God’s great love with all who crossed his path. He was faithful to the end, on the last day of his life he was able to lead a man to Christ on Sunday morning and then preach his last message. He was always seeking to lead people to put their trust in Christ, preaching God’s Word to his flock and helping people see Jesus through the brokenness of this world. With warmth and sincerity, he ministered to churches, camps, nursing homes, school chapel’s and anyone who would listen to him, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.
Ken cherished his role as a devoted husband to his wife of 44 years, Lois, and a loving father to their eight children, Kyle, Holly, Chuk, Heidi, Hannah, Daniel, Wesley and Hope. His family was his pride and joy. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren Kyle, Oliver, Leland, Aiden, Bella, Xander, Leala, Aspen, Gunnison, Denver, Routt, Kiera, Koen, Jalecia, Waylon, Leon, Brooks, Haley, June and Bode.
Ken’s legacy of faith in Jesus, kindness to others, and an affection for Christ will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer on earth his legacy will live on in those who were impacted by him. He was tireless in writing stories, essays and books and producing podcasts to encourage that will live on at kenpierpont.com.
