This weekend I preached in South Haven. It was a perfect early autumn-like weekend. On the way over we visited my little brother Nathan’s new home and spent the night there enjoying a long talk with coffee by the fireside before bed.
Yesterday between services Dan and Wes and I enjoyed a beautiful stretch of Lake Michigan coastline… sailboats in the distance the perfect setting for a nap in the sun and an hour and reading Jerry Dennis’ wonderful new book “The Living Great Lakes.”
Saturday morning on the way to South Haven to preach we stopped for a bagel and coffee and unexpectedly ran into Emily Harris from the Camp Barakel family. It was a nice surprise. One of the sweetest fruits of being in the family of faith is that you have brothers and sisters all over the place and they tend to show up just when you need them or when they need you.
Last week Heidi turned sixteen… for her birthday we bought her a courtship ring. The ring has two facing hearts and it is a reminder that we have covenanted together as a family to agree together before she gives her heart to a young man. She wants us to help her with one of the most important decisions of her life. You can read more about courtship here: https://kenpierpont.com/mt_archive/000154.php
