It’s a crisp autumn morning in the Downriver. We had a good Lord’s Day yesterday. I poured my heart out to the people. If you are interested you can listen to the podcasts. If you don’t have time for the whole message, listen to the story I told to start my AM message. There is a little surprise in it. Now it’s Monday and I’m up early but the pace and feel are refreshingly different. I’ve loved my Mondays for years.
A Couple New Books;
If you like a clean, cozy, edifying, artful read you probably already know about Jan Karon. Jan Karon’s new novel, In The Company of Others (Isn’t that a nice title?), is available in bookstores tomorrow. This one is worth lining-up for. You can read chapter one here. The story is set in Ireland and starts out with a storm. I’ve written about Jan Karon before.
Keep an eye on my site this week for a review of my friend Pastor Brian Hedges new book: Christ Formed in You; The Power of the Gospel for Personal Change. The title itself should make you hungry for the content. Brian is the pastor of Fulkerson Park Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan.
