A few weeks ago I was visiting Rob Hickey at his tidy shop. He has a furniture refinishing business. I knew I would enjoy lively conversation about the things of the Lord and he promised me a sample of Greek coffee. While I was there his son Steven came in. He told me about the Russell Street Deli. I love books but I can’t imagine being willing to go to jail for them. Shelly Koontz did. I don’t think they have much crime in Iowa. They jailed Shelly because she failed to return a library book. It was due last April. She spent two hours in jail before posting $250 bond. You can buy a lot of books with that. Here in the greater Detroit area our criminals are usually not that well-read. In 2006 Mike Foster sold his luxury Infiniti G35. He now drives a modest 1993 model Toyota Camry. He wanted to give more. He wanted to make a statement against run-away consumerism. He started talking friends into joining him in a club he calls the Junky Car Club.

Pittsburgh’s James Harrison should have been thrown out of the Super Bowl for his thug behavior, punching an opponent repeatedly after the play. (In my humble, unbiased opinion).
