It is interesting to notice what the various gospel writers include, what they leave out and what they emphasize. When you study Matthew’s version of this story, the central truth of the passage becomes very clear.
The message is a litte over 30 minutes long. I hope you get a chance to listen to it. Let me know what you think.

Oh GOD! and I never say that lightly. How I “choose the pork” daily. I am such a pitiful person and yet still so full of pride. I should have been the first to the front at the end of the service, but my pride told me that it wasn’t necessary. Then on the way to work this morning Casting Crowns – “Who Am I” came on the radio and I could barely breath and could hardly see the road. GOD help me to daily die to my selfish desires and be the kind of man (husband, father, friend, employee etc.) that I ought to be.

Thanks for writing, Doug. I know God will help you when you have a humble heart like you do. I love the “Who Am I” song…
