in 2009 John MacArthur preached to young people at the Resolved Conference about how to choose a pastor and how to evaluate a church. No message in years has influenced me and impacted me as much as this message. Today, while making hospital calls, I listened to it again. I embedded it here so you can watch it.
My heart longs to be a sanctified and sanctifying shepherd. This year I want to evaluate “my” church as the Chief Shepherd does, by the holiness of the people, not the number of people we have gathered or the amount of money they give. If you are a pastor are you a sanctified shepherd? Is your pastor deeply burdened with the holiness of the flock of God under his care?
