The Redbuds are blooming again. This week I plan to get my running shoes back out and get out on the trails along the Lower Huron. (Kyle told me he was trail-running and happened onto a young cougar along the St. Joe River near Niles).
I’ve discovered something this winter. If you eat too much you will get fat. If you are fat it is hard to run. If you don’t run you get fat. So there you go. Sometimes people ask me how they can pray for me. This would be one of the ways: pray that I will have self-control in my eating rooted in satisfaction in God. Then I can break out all my old shirts and slacks and I won’t feel like I am choking to death every time I preach.
There is a carpet of yellow blooms beneath the forsythia bush behind the Granville Cottage tonight. The Bald Cyprus trees are starting to get feather-like leaves. The red maple in back is in full leaf. The pear in front and the Japanese ornamental blossomed last week and their perfumed pedals blew down for five or six days like snow. The neighbors have begun their incessant tinkering about in the yard which is good for my social life. It’s cool and breezy tonight. The moon will be full tonight and the sky is clear. I may go for a drive this evening. My buddie Chuck Smalley Jr. told me the moon was beautiful over Lake Erie last night.

Hi
I read your article in The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. It was very well written and I enjoyed it very much. If I wanted to have a real authentic relationship with Christ what book’s would you suggest I read? I understand wanting to loose weight. I have been trying for years. I love the pictures of the blossoms.
