A few weeks before we began to explore coming to pastor Evangel, I spoke to a group of young people in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The conference center is set on a 3000 acre property surrounding a 300 acre lake in the beautiful Northwoods of the Western UP. The week was a gift from the Lord. The colors were moving toward the peek and they were glorious. Every day I ran the four miles around the lake. All week the weather was perfect. I saw porcupine and wild turkey, deer and other creatures. All week the sky was that deep blue of October. One afternoon I drove out near a place called “Bill’s Cabin” near Ox Yoke Lake and did some reading and writing and napping. On the way back for dinner, I took this picture at the north end of Wolf Lake. In the evening, after dinner, I had some time before the evening meeting to paddle out on a silky purple lake to enjoy the afterglow of the sunset.
Autumn is a brief gift God gives us here in the north every year to savor. I hope you don’t let it slip away without taking some mental “snapshots” to store in your heart and to stimulate worship. Our Creator, the Lord Jesus, is so Worthy and so Wonderful. How can you not believe? How can you not adore Him? How can you not worship Him? How can you not love Him?
