Chuk and our son-in-law, Dale McBride sang Lay ‘Em Down one Sunday. Chuk broke some new ground with this song.
Singing on WLJC in Kentucky
In 2013 Chuk and Holly went to Kentucky to sing on WLJC. A whole hour of singing and stories are on this video. It’s a treasure of simple hymns and heart-warming songs and stories.

Holly and Chuk
Christmas brings out the most beautiful music of the church. One year Holly and Chuk put together this lovely version of an ancient Appalachian mountain carol. Even though the video and audio were taken on an iPhone the beautiful of the harmonies, and the voices, and the guitar come though. I loved Chuk’s little wrap up at the end and the enthusiasm of the people.
A Bad Video of a Good Song
The quality of this video is obviously poor and amateur and beautiful Hope America is hidden behind the music stand, but I wanted to keep this video forever. I am on the platform because I had was suffering from a really painful knee injury the Sunday this was filmed. That was a year ago and I am grateful to God to be on my feet and able to walk and bike and be active.
It’s amazing when I listen to Chuk and Hope sing. I remember their great-grandmother, Charlotte Shipley, when she got saved she had this prayer; “Lord, please let my children sing.” Well, she has singing children, singing grand-children, and here are a couple of her singing great-grandchildren…
God in the Mountains
In the summer of 2008 the girls did a tour of Eastern Kentucky singing and testifying of their love for Jesus. They sang in mountain churches, on the street, at events, in homes, and on a couple small Christian television stations. Deep in the mountains after driving for a few hours and fighting motion-sickness the girls recorded this beautiful song my Tracy Dartt, often sung by the McKameys. I will always love this video. Hope was so small then. Sometimes I wish I could freeze time, but that is not how the Great Designer made our world and He knows best.
I wanted to post this here so I would always have it. It’s memory I never want to lose.
