Kim Cahill left last month to take a new job at Mt. Herman Bible Conference Grounds in California. That ended nearly five years of service here at the Character Inn as our head chef. She was a good one.
I was snooping around the kitchen after she left, thinking about her and remembering all the good meals that she prepared and the events the she serviced. I poked my head in the freezer and was delighted to find two huge flat containers of cookies Kim prepared for us before she left. One was filled with chocolate chip cookies and the other was filled with ginger chip cookies. Kim was famous for her ginger chip cookies.
It was a bittersweet moment for me. I grabbed three of the ginger chip cookies, brewed a pot of coffee and spent some time thinking of the good work that Kim did here for the Lord. My prayer evening now is that the protection and blessing of the Lord would be upon her.
