As I write this we are on our way home from South Haven where we preached and sang at Bethel Baptist Church. Chuck is driving so I can write and work on some messages for tomorrow. We will return for the next two Sundays to South Haven. I am looking forward to being on the west coast of Michigan for the arrival of autumn. The trees are just starting to color in a few places. Saturday night we stood on a wooden deck drinking coffee and watching sailboats come into harbor at dusk.
We were kindly received and we enjoyed the fellowship with the people at Bethel. It was good to see how God has used my sister Melony and her husband Jim in the lives of people there. I spoke on Spiritual Victory and How to Conquer Blasphemous Giants.
I am grateful to God tonight as we make our way back toward Flint in the rain. He has allowed us to be involved in so much good work it is hard to find time to sleep. When I go to bed on Tuesday night I will have preached eighteen times in thirteen days. God has been good to me. Along with the ministry of speaking and singing I have the opportunity to direct the work of the Character Inn and build into the lives of the young people who serve there. Along with that there are about forty-six hundred Stonebridge subscribers now. I hear from them every day and I meet them wherever I go.
We have made a significant change this week. Kyle moved home to Flint this weekend and will be concentrating on his studies with the Verity Program now. At least for a while we will all be under one roof again. I am looking forward to that. I’m sure we won’t have many years before that changes forever.
