A summer day stands out in my memory. We were swimming at the community pool in Baltimore, Ohio where my sister Melony, brother-in-law Jim and their family lived at the time. Kyle was five that summer. His cousin Jeremiah was six.

We live in perilous times. Whether we realize it or not we all live and work and minister in the middle of a spiritual battlefield. Spiritual warfare is taking place all around us. Help or Harm
On a sunny autumn Saturday morning in a small Ohio town, a farmer made his way to the grain elevator with a part of his grain harvest. He had a sense of well-being that morning. His harvest was in. Yield was good. He waved at his friends up and down Main Street in his hometown. Without any warning one of the grain wagons became disconnected and veered into the opposing lane of traffic colliding with an on-coming car. He didn’t expect much damage because he was only traveling about twenty-five miles and hour. He pulled over and walked back to exchange insurance information with the driver of the car.

When Life Hurts
A few years ago I took Wesley to the dentist. The dentist was a neighbor, a friend, a fine man and a real pro. Wes was about five at the time and he looked exactly like I did at the same age. (You can see a picture of this on our family web-page. www.kenpierpont.com)

Meditation in Creation
All my life I have been encouraged to have a regular time in God’s Word every day. In addition to daily times in the word I have tried to have special times and special places to meditate on the Scriptures often surrounded by God’s creation.

This Week (March 11-18, 2003)
This is a weekend we will remember for a long, long time. Kyle came home and we all got up at five on Saturday and headed for our favorite coffee shop in Rockford. After the coffee and huge pecan rolls… (I was able to restrict myself to just a bite of Kyle’s) we spent the first spring-like day skiing at Cannonsburg near Grand Rapids.
