Romance
Jesus promised fullness of joy
– How can I enjoy a happy romance God’s way?
– How do you know when it is time to marry?
– What should you do between now and then?
– How can you keep pure when you are tempted?
I will be preaching about this on Sunday night March 8th at Evangel at 6:00 p.m. I hope you can come hear the message. If you can’t it will be on the podcast later that evening. In this message there are three principles from the Song of Solomon that will help you answer some of these questions.
Gathering of Men
If you will allow me a shameless plug I will be speaking on Saturday March 7th for a men’s conference in Flint. Men Modeling the Master. I am going to be bringing three messages about how to be a man of spiritual influence. I hope you will plan to spend the day with us. Every year it is a great conference. My little brother, Nathan will be leading the music and that is worth the price of the ticket.
Children and the Gospel
About twenty-five years ago I was on staff at Fulkerson Park Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan. Today the church is in very good hands. Their pastor is Brian Hedges. He is a gifted writer and he is dead-on with the gospel. He has written a helpful article on how to present the gospel to children. Everyone with children, or who works with children should consider this article. Brian has three concerns about how to share the gospel with children:
1. That we not replace the true gospel with false or distorted versions
2. That we not confuse the gospel with a child’s response
3. That we not equate a true, inward, spiritual response with an outward physical or emotional response
Weak Praying
Sunday morning I preached to Evangel on why our prayers are weak. This message will help you understand why God allows trouble and what to do when you have to go through it. It explains how to glorify God and what it means to glorify God.
